The upgrade of an item lets players increase the gear rating of an item up 700 points and also add a final bonus. Items can be upgraded if they are in your inventory and you bring them to the Kiln.

The number of stones needed to upgrade a weapon will continue to rise until it requires an upgrade to a higher level of Smithing Stones, at which the number will be reset to one.

Upgrades to weapons will also change the stats of their base. This is generally a positive thing, but it can also have negative consequences. In the case of items that are only used in a particular build (Whistant's shield for FB sorcs, for instance), upgrading them may render them useless unless you get a fortunate roll.

It is possible to upgrade armor items to improve their stats. For instance, if you have a helm or chest, it will boost the defense of its base, while gloves and belts will enhance their required strength and dexterity. Armor also offers the option of rerolling its Enhanced Defense percent, which means that it can sometimes reroll to a lower value.

The upgrade template for a weapon displays the new stats that it will gain upon upgrading, along with their relative values. This means that the weapon will gain 3% attack damage if it is upgraded from an 8 attack damage sword to an 11 attack damage sword. However the 3% difference doesn't mean that it will hit for 3 times less often, since it is an absolute number.

Rerolling a weapon is possible by pressing the green button on the item menu with the arrows that are circling. This will reroll the item and alter its stats but it won't reset the weapon's levels or bind to account status.

Armor

Adding a few upgrades to your armor can make a huge difference in your capacity to withstand. The upgrade vendors are located in major cities and in the capital of each zone, and in some instances in dungeons. Upgrades for trinkets are available with tokens, gold, or fragments from trinkets that are rare.

Upgrades to trinkets are a cost-effective alternative to purchasing an entirely new one. A player can upgrade their trinket for as little as 12 tokens. The new trinket will have the same base ilvl as the old one, and will come with an additional 1% upgrade bonus.

Once the old Trinkets have become not usable, they can be upgraded. This allows players to increase both their power and value over time. They can be traded between players and are a viable alternative to gold.
